Last Sunday, while coming back from Mumbai to B'lore I noticed a break in the usual Indian Airlines customs. Don't worry they STILL play the same elevator music (Kenny-G). Anyhoo, the change was that during the routine flight announcement by the pilot, the voice on the PA system was that of a lady and she said "this is Captain Roopa......".
Well I thought IA did not allow its lady pilots from making the announcements as it would lead to the passengers losing confidence in the pilot and the airlines!! Dumb Sexists!
I can't think of anything worse for an employee that not getting acknowledged for their work. Thank god sanity has prevailed and the lady pilots are getting the respect and credit due to them.....
